Could the New Jersey Nets end their five game losing streak and top the Boston Celtics? It would be difficult but it seemed possible, especially when they grabbed a slim lead over Boston.
The Nets came in to Boston with winning on their mind, but if they were going to be victorious, they had to do without certain players lost to injury. Brook Lopez is still out with that injured foot, and Kris Humphries is still with a banged up shoulder. Added to the list of injuries was Deron Williams, who claimed he had a sore ankle.
Marshon Brooks attempted to put New Jersey on his back, but his 17 points just wasn't enough. Jordan Farmar added 11 more off the bench, but the Nets fell short to the Celtics by 19. New Jersey is now 1-6, and has not won a game since December 26th. That was opening day against the Washington Wizards. New Jersey needs help, and they need it now.
New Jersey Nets: 70
Boston Celtics: 89
